so, this week i stuck my new Swopper chair in the office. yes, i know, it's crazy. combine this with my Kinesis classic keyboard and you get one ridiculously ergonomic lifestyle.
i can't say much about the Swopper yet, since i've only had it for three days, so it hasn't made a huge impact on my posture or well-being yet. but i can say that it's the super-funnest and bounciest chair ever, which makes a strong argument for not sending it back! the bounciness forces me to sit up straight for balance, which i'm told is the point, so ideally soon i'll be sitting (and standing) up straight even when not bouncing up and down at my desk.
as for the Kinesis, i've been using it since September and it's seriously the best thing ever. it really reduces the amount of effort i put into typing, especially for us emacs users accustomed to constantly reaching for the Ctrl/Alt keys with our pinkies. moving all the modifier keys to the thumbs is a really great idea. i really recommend it.
p.s. i feel i have to add a disclaimer to this, my first completely consumption-related blog entry: this is not an ad.
p.p.s. yes, i know, technological solutions cannot fix all one's problems. but this chair sure is fun and bouncy!!
