the (semi-)quiet life in providence

keeping with my resolution to update this at least every month, here's the latest from providence. things are busily quiet as i finish my master's project. i'll be glad when this is all over and i'll be one of those PhD-candidate types who don't have to take classes and can actually do research.

the quiet has been sporadically punctuated by the loud brass music of the What Cheer? Brigade (check out the new site for pictures, etc). recent shows have included Ft. Greene Park, Brooklyn with the HMB and RMO, and here in Providence with the indie-rock group Wolf Parade. we've got the whole uniform thing coming together now, so it looks like it'll be the summer of spontaneous parades.

time to get back to work.

Came across your photos from the China Minority Group on Flickr. Seeing our common background (1. Cornell CS major, Arts and sciences college 2. Live in Providence 3. Traveled extensively throughout China), I thought I'd drop a note and say hi.
